I've Been Fined!

Today after my meeting in Sacramento, I took BART to San Francisco so that I could stop by the Brazilian Consulate to have my passport renewed; another opportunity to practice my portuguese. :) Anyway, for a second I thought I wouldn't be able to renew my passport because I have failed to vote in the last 5 presidential elections!! According to the consulate staff-woman (she was cute, by the way) voting is MANDATORY for all brazilian citizens over the age of 18. Oooops! Heheh. I can't wait to hear how much I will have to pay to correct my "situation."
